In addition, Mr. Brett Eberly and Mrs. Hanna presented on the work and great things happening in the Innovation Academy at CCHS. The new academy structure features three academies, Eagle Tech Academy, Innovation Academy and Service Academy. Learn more on the CCHS site.
Then our very own, Mrs. Rentschler, Indiana Board of Education Board Member, presented on the changing diploma requirements for the Class of 2029 and beyond.

Dear WCCS Families and Staff,
At approximately 3:37 p.m., WCCS was notified of a 911 text message that came through the Whitley County Sheriff Dispatch. Dispatch was able to gather the geo-location, which showed the message came from the north side of the Columbia City High School parking lot, where buses park at dismissal with both middle and high school students present.
Joining administration, several members of the CCPD, CCFD, and ISP arrived at CCHS and did a walkthrough of the building. At 4:05 p.m., law enforcement identified the owner of the cell phone and left to make contact with the family.
We acknowledge the seriousness of this offense and will act accordingly with our policies and work with law enforcement. The owner of the cell phone was identified and there is no threat at any WCCS campus.
Please know, safety is a top priority and we encourage - if you see something or hear something, say something.
As with any school safety incident, we will debrief and review our practices and procedures. We extend our appreciation to our local law enforcement for their work.

Due to icy conditions in the northern half of our district, Whitley County Consolidated Schools is on a two hour delay for Thursday December 12, 2024.

Little Turtle Elementary will have our first annual Veterans Day Car Parade to honor Veterans and all of our Armed Forces.
This Parade is to honor Veterans and all members of our Armed Forces. It will be a backward parade of sorts, all Veterans and any service men and women will drive their cars around our marked "parade route"
No Veterans are getting out of their cars, just driving though, as we cheer you on and celebrate you! The parade is on Monday, November 11 at 9:00-10:00 am.
We want students to try to invite someone in the military. That’s where we need your help! We need to know who those special people are. If you know or can invite someone in the United States Armed Forces, past or present, please ask them to come! We want to honor as many as we can.
Please contact Brandi Duncan at Little Turtle Elementary with any questions.

WCCS Families.
This afternoon local law enforcement was involved in a pursuit that ended in close proximity to our campus. There is no danger and the pursuit ended before they got to the south campus (Little Turtle, ISMS and CCHS); however, you will see increased police presence in the area during dismissal while they finish their work.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. While this incident occurred in the vicinity of our campus, our campus remains safe and secure. We have been in close communication with local authorities, who have assured us that the situation has been contained and there is no need for any lockdown or other emergency measures.
Thank you for your understanding.
