We celebrated our Teacher of the Year, Chris Bechtold, and Staff of the Year, Angie Miller! We welcomed our new staff to the WCCS family and were inspired by words from our Board of School Trustee President, Dave Smith, and our Superintendent, Dr. Laura McDermott.
Thank you, City Chevrolet City Ford for your unwavering support for our Teacher/Staff of the year. We will make a formal presentation with our whole community during the home football game on August 29.
Following our opening day presentation, teachers separated into their grade levels to collaborate.
Tonight we celebrate with our Open Houses.
The energy is high and the smiles are big as we prepare to see our students on Friday!

First Student Day is August 15!

As we welcome them to WCCS, we are grateful for the work they're about to do and the dedication to our students and our community.
Orientation was led by our assistant superintendent, Seth Slater, and they heard from various administrators throughout the district to onboard their experience. They even met Officer Clark and Jake, our new SRO to WCCS!
We're on the countdown! The first student day is next Friday!

Our community partners who host interns allow for a truly personalized internship experience for our seniors make a meaningful impact for our students' futures.
Last year, our CCHS seniors logged 56,867 hours for the 2024/2025 school year!
We know internships allow a variety of experiences for our students to find a meaningful choice after high school and gives them individualized opportunities to explore their career interests.
In just a few short weeks more than 100 seniors will join our partners for the Fall 2025 semester! If you haven't connected with us to host an intern yet, connect with Lori Heuer and check out our website at wccsonline.com/o/cchs/page/career-and-technical-education
Interns are a significant part of Indiana’s workforce. Today we’re
recognizing interns and making sure they know the value of their work. Happy #INinternday!
