Synchronous Learning Days
Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, Whitley County Consolidated Schools (WCCS) will implement a Synchronous Learning format when school is closed because of weather.
Synchronous learning means students and teachers are learning together at the same time, even if they’re not in the same place.
It’s like being in a regular classroom. Everyone logs in at the same time, listens to the teacher, asks questions and works on activities and assignments together.
In addition to providing our students with skills and experiences in a blended learning environment, synchronous learning days also enable us to maintain continuity in student learning and reduce the need for make-up days tagged onto the end of the school year. Please explore the resources provided, as well as the list of frequently asked questions. If you have any remaining questions, feel free to contact your child’s principal and we will be happy to answer any of your questions.
