Whitley County Consolidated Schools Board of School Trustees approved an updated school calendar for the 2024-2025 year to reflect five additional professional development (or teacher only) days for our staff.
The additional staff-only days were added through a 1003 waiver approved by the State. Students attend 5 fewer days during the school year but still exceed state guidelines for the number of required instructional minutes for the school year.
The change in calendar provides WCCS staff professional development opportunities to advance district strategic plan pillars of Comprehensive Student Experience, Employee Experience and Organizational Excellence.
Find the calendar on the WCCS App or online at wccsonline.com.

Our staff at the CCHS Cafeteria recently received this note from a student : "Me and my friend were late to lunch and even though they already put everything up they still had smiles on their faces and were more than happy to give us lunch. They were so sweet and asked us what we wanted and she asked us if we wanted a brownie and we said yes, she took the biggest ones out of the bottom.. .and gave them to us. It was so sweet she took the time to do that and that they weren't rude or upset or anything. I think about their kindness every day." Way to serve and care for our students ladies!

Thank you to Kyocera for speaking to our Introduction to Manufacturing students in class, and then hosting them for a tour of your facility. Students learned about manufacturing equipment, processes, and career potential.

Thank you to Wes Sigler from Blue River Digital for hosting CCHS Entrepreneurship students for a study trip to learn about his entrepreneurial journey.
