WCCS PROUDLY RECOGNIZES THE TEACHER AND STAFF MEMBER OF THE MONTH FOR APRIL
Whitley County Consolidated Schools congratulates the April Teacher of the Month and Staff of the Month winners.
Hannah Herman, Guidance Counselor for Mary Raber Montessori and Coesse Elementary, was recognized as as the Teacher of the Month for April 2026.
"Miss Herman is a dedicated school counselor who shows a genuine passion for supporting students in all aspects of their growth. She works closely with children to help them develop essential daily skills while fostering positive relationships with their peers. Whether she is on the playground, in the gym, or stepping in wherever a student needs support, Miss Herman is always present and engaged. She consistently goes out of her way to provide encouragement, build confidence, and support students' self-esteem, " said Herman's nominator.
Todd Kyler, Head Custodian at Northern Heights Elementary School, was recognized as the Staff Member of the Month for April 2026.
"Todd is a servant leader. He is always there to help students and staff when needed. he jumps in and helps all the time, recognizing needs and filling gaps. Todd is always a support when safety concerns arise, and he is constantly problem solving throughout our building to serve staff and students. Thank you for your hard work every day!"

WCCS is grateful to our exceptional teachers and staff who serve our community well. Each month, nominations are taken from co-workers, families, and the community and then winners are chosen from a selection committee made up of community members, service organizations, a WCCS School Board member, and WCCS staff.
Through May, we will honor a WCCS teacher and a WCCS staff member who go above and beyond, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to academic excellence, innovative teaching methods, and fostering a positive, engaging learning environment. These exemplary educators embody the WCCS values of Eagle P.R.I.D.E. - Persistence, Respectfulness, Initiative, Dependability, and Efficiency.
