Whitley County Consolidated Schools (WCCS) with Columbia City High School is proud to announce that Alissa Roberts, Family and Consumer Science educator, has been named the Indiana Family and Consumer Science Teacher of the Year by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS).
Ms. Roberts has been recognized for her exceptional dedication to education, innovative teaching methods, and significant contributions to the field of Family and Consumer Sciences. Her commitment to preparing students with critical life skills and professional development has set her apart as a standout educator in Indiana.
The AAFCS Teacher of the Year award recognizes educators who demonstrate excellence in teaching, leadership, and community involvement within Family and Consumer Sciences programs.
Ms. Roberts has taught at Columbia City High School for the past 36 years, with 38 years in education. In addition to teaching, Roberts has been the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) advisor, which is a Nationally awarded and recognized FCCLA chapter.
Her recognition highlights the critical importance of Family and Consumer Sciences in preparing students for personal and professional success.
