Megan H._Ed Professions

February is National CTE Month. Career and Technical Education (CTE) celebrates achievements and accomplishments of technical programs and students across the country from K-12 through college and beyond.

Columbia City High School hosts several CTE programs through the academies and we're highlighting each of them this month.

The Education Professions program at CCHS puts students directly in the classroom and they interact with students, teachers and schools in our community.  Ed. Professions CTE is the primary pathway to host FCCLA.

Here is what senior Megan Heuer had to say briefly about her CTE experience.

What does CTE mean to you?  To me, CTE means that my classes are relevant to what I want to do as a career.

How has your CTE class prepared you for the future? Through my CTE class, I have been able to get field experience in 4 different elementary classrooms which have allowed me to see firsthand if this is a good fit for my future

What are your future plans?  I plan to go to PFW to study elementary and special education.

Favorite CTE class memory? One of my favorite things about Ed. Professions is when my classmates share stories of things that happened in their classrooms throughout the week.
