Indian Springs Middle School introduces students to the wonderful world of music. Through theory and practice, students learn music reading and their instruments while being introduced to the wider world of possibilities. Students of music are known to perform better on SAT and that music exercises all seven intelligences identified in the brain*. Begin your journey in the never-ending possibilities of music here at Indian Springs Middle School!
The ISMS bands celebrated the efforts of seven students who entered the ISSMA Solo and Ensemble contest at Carroll High School. Students prepare a solo and perform it for a professional musician who rates the performance based on learning the piece of music performed as well as the overall presentation. We are proud of the following students: Elizabeth Wagner, 8th grade, vocal solo, GOLD; Brock Williamson, 7th grade, flute solo, GOLD; Thomas Huntley, 7th grade, clarinet solo, GOLD; Alexia Johnston, vocal solo, GOLD; Austin Hall, 7th grade, alto sax solo, GOLD; Cora Hall, 6th grade, baritone solo, GOLD; and Julia Hammel, 6th grade, vocal solo, GOLD. Congratulations to these outstanding music students!
6th, 8th grade and Jazz Bands are preparing for the 5th grade visits in March and for our Spring Band Concert in April.
8th graders have been scheduling high school classes. All 8th grade band members should strongly consider being a part of our high school Band department! Music Rocks!
