  • What is an eLearning Day?

    An eLearning day may occur when school is cancelled due to inclement weather.  Instruction is provided by each student’s teacher through the use of technology.

  • Why not use a traditional method of makeup?

    The district’s eLearning days are an extension of our vision to prepare our students to be “Ready for Tomorrow.”  In addition to providing our students with skills and experiences in a blended learning environment, eLearning days also enable us to maintain continuity in student learning and reduce the need for make-up days tagged onto the end of the school year.

  • When will eLearning days be used?

    When school is closed due to inclement weather, an eLearning day may be called.  An eLearning day will not be called prior to September 17, 2018.  WCCS will not call an eLearning day on the first day of a new semester.

  • How will students and parents be notified if an eLearning day will be used?

    Families will be notified of eLearning days just as they are notified of school delays and closings via automated dialer system.

  • What happens if my child needs assistance?

    All WCCS teachers will be available to students for consultation between the hours of 9:00AM and 2:00PM.  Teachers will be available until 3:00PM on a three hour delay.

  • When will eLearning day assignment get posted?

    Posted by:

    Work for students will be posted by their teacher(s) by 9:00AM of the called eLearning day.  If a two hour delay becomes an eLearning day, work will be posted by 10:00AM.  If a three hour delay becomes an eLearning day, work will be posted by 11:00AM and teachers will be available to students until 3:00PM.

  • How will WCCS prepare my children for eLearning?

    We have two planned practice days to allow our students in grades K-6 to see what will be required of them on an eLearning day.  These practices days are September 4th and September 11th, 2018.

  • What do I do if I don't have internet at home?

    The Peabody Public Library has computers and is aware of our plans to use eLearning days during weather related cancellations. Also, you can look for free WiFi access within the community on our map.

  • How will eLearning day impact after school activities?

    Posted by:

    After school activities will be treated the same as if school were closed.  All elementary activities will be canceled.  Middle School and High School activities will be determined case by case depending on the weather and road conditions.
