Dual Credit

Opportunities at CCHS

  • Students have many opportunities to earn dual credit while attending Columbia City High School. We currently offer several different courses in conjunction with PFW, IU, and Ivy Tech. The process for applying and criteria for admission differ for each university, so please review the specific information for each of them carefully. Links to information for each college are on the bottom of this page. You can also view dual credit courses by subject area at the bottom of this page.

    What is Dual Credit?

    •  These are classes that students can take to earn both high school credit and college credit at the same time.

    Why Earn Dual Credit?

    • Get a HEAD START by earning college credit while still in high school.
    • SAVE TIME & MONEY – classes cost significantly less for high school students, and you can finish college earlier by getting some general college classes out of the way.
    • Meet requirements for an ACADEMIC HONORS or ACADEMIC HONORS diploma.
      • Students must earn a minimum grade of "C".
    • Build CONFIDENCE and be better PREPARED for college after high school.

    * Parents and students are responsible for verifying the transfer of credits to their specific college or institution of interest. Visit the Indiana CORE Transfer Library: http://www.transferin.net or contact your intended post-secondary institution directly.

    * Parents and students are responsible for requesting a transcript from their dual credit college and submitting it to their college/institution of interest.
