Welcome to Northern Heights Elementary School

  • Here we understand forming strong partnerships with parents to support students at home is paramount to a child’s success. We have an exceptionally caring staff that works tirelessly to meet both the emotional and academic needs of all students. The teachers have high expectations for themselves and their students. We expect and teach our students to work hard, behave well and push themselves to achieve their highest personal best.

Governor Holcomb released a statement restricting large gatherings on March 12, 2020.  In addition, the Governor awarded schools twenty waiver days to be used during this unusual time.  As a result, WCCS will close effective March 16 through April 12, 2020.  Students will participate in e-learning March 16, 17, and 18; March 23, 24, and 25; and March 30, 31, and April 1.  WCCS will utilize state waiver days March 19 and 20; March 26 and 27; and April 2 and 3.  Students will not be assigned work during waiver days and schools will be closed.

Additional information related to this closure includes:

    • All school activities are canceled until further notice. This includes athletic practices, competitions, clubs, etc.
    • Parents are asked to call their child’s school during regular school hours to arrange pick up of medications and other forgotten items beginning Monday, March 16, 2020.
    • Students enrolled in off-site programs will not attend these classes.

  • Device Protection Plan

Students will have the option to enroll in a Device Protection Plan for the 2019-2020 school year.  The optional Device Protection Plan costs $20.  Participation in the plan protects school-issued student Chromebooks against ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE, FIRE, FLOOD, NATURAL DISASTERS, POWER SURGE, VANDALISM, MECHANICAL FAILURE and MANUFACTURER DEFECTS. This plan will provide full replacement cost coverage (does not include chargers or cases) and will protect devices on and off school grounds.  The plan is limited to three claims.  Parents will be responsible for all costs related to incidents beyond the third claim.  The plan is also transferable to a replacement unit. All repairs regardless of participation in the Device Protection Plan must be handled by the WCCS Technology Department.
