Welcome to Northern Heights Elementary School
Here we understand forming strong partnerships with parents to support students at home is paramount to a child’s success. We have an exceptionally caring staff that works tirelessly to meet both the emotional and academic needs of all students. The teachers have high expectations for themselves and their students. We expect and teach our students to work hard, behave well and push themselves to achieve their highest personal best.
Parenting in the 21st Century is not an easy task. Students today are constantly bombarded with information that may, or may not be factual. Their lives are on display 24/7 through social media, and they have no shortage of detrimental role models when it comes to appropriate online behavior. Every day, a politician, sports figure, or celebrity sparks controversy and career destruction with an obnoxious tweet, a scandalous text, or an embarrassing photo posted online. As parents and educators, we must work together to provide our children with the tools and strategies necessary to navigate this ever changing landscape. Please make plans to join us for our first meeting of Parent University. We will discuss parenting strategies, potential harmful apps that your children may be using, and we will hear from legal experts about the ramifications of inappropriate decisions in the digital world. This event promises to be an eye opening and thought provoking evening that you won’t want to miss.
