WELCOME TO THE CITY SHOW CHOIR WEB SITE
Curious to know the competition shows?? Check back here in a month!!!
“City Show Choir” is the group name for four very important ensembles at Columbia City High School.
“City Heat” is the mixed show choir. This year, City Heat’s membership has sixteen boys and sixteen girls. They have already started practices for a fall show. Many of the members are involved in “WILL ROGER’S FOLLIES”, the fine arts department fall musical that will be in production on November 7 and 8 in the high school auditorium.
City Heat’s fall show song list is “Higher Love”, “Sun and Moon” (from MISS SIAGON), “Be True To Your School”, “Ain’t Misbehavin’” (featuring the girls), and “A Teenager in Love” (featuring the guys). They are under the direction of Rosalie Geller-Byrne.
“City Lights” is the all female show choir. This year, City Lights membership has twenty-nine young women. They, too, have already started their fall show. Some of these girls are involved in “WILL ROGER’S FOLLIES”, too.
City Lights will begin vocals for their spring competition show in September and have a dance retreat October 6 through 11 for their competition show. Due to this schedule, their fall show repertoire is a little shorter. They are working on “Gimmee, Gimmee, Some Lovin’”, “Starting Here, Starting Now”, and “Hooray for Hollywood”. They are under the direction of Rosalie Geller-Byrne
“City Soul” is our instrumental back up band. We are happy to say they are growing in student numbers. They will begin rehearsals for the spring competition show after marching band season is finished in early November. Carolyn Hindbaugh, teacher at ISMS, is their director.
“City Crew” is an all student technical group that assists with prop handling, set moving and back stage assistance. We appreciate the many hours to rehearsals and performances that our crew commits to show choir.
You will find rehearsal calendar, events and competition dates on the pages of this site. If you have questions, call Rosalie Geller-Byrne at 260-244-6136 X 3328. Come visit the show choir at one of their performances. You will have a ball!!
